Take a walk through one part of Philadelphia's long history at Awbury Arboretum, where gently rolling hills hide a number of beautiful 19th century mansions. With the exception of the Francis Cope House, these homes are privately owned, but even a walk through the streets offers great views of the exteriors of these lovely residences. The one public house serves as the arboretum's center of operations and is also available for events like weddings and receptions. Most guests, however, choose to simply walk through the lovely area and see its variety of beautiful trees and residences. Part of the Germantown neighborhood, the arboretum is surrounded by historic buildings and sites.
