Description:

The Belmont Mansion was built in the 1700's and has hosted such notable dignitaries as John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison. Today it is an historic house museum replete with gift shop and guided tours. It lies in Fairmount Park, in the heart of Philadelphia, across from Bala Golf Course. The Mansion also contains the city's Underground Railroad Museum, and provides headquarters to the American Women's Heritage Society.
