Explore and learn about all sorts of creepy crawlies at the Insectarium, the largest arthropod museum in the nation and definitely one of its most unusual as well. Touch live critters including scorpions and tarantulas, observe a room crawling with cockroaches and see dozens of other bugs as they go about their usual business. It's a great place for a kid's party or tour, with special programs and activities arranged for groups that plan ahead. It's not far to go to get to the museum either: the Holmesburg neighborhood museum sits just a few blocks away from Pennypack Park, just a few miles northeast of downtown Philadelphia.
Open Mon. - Sat. 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Closed Sun.
Adults and Children $7; Children 2 and under are free.
