Races: Marathon


The Philadelphia Marathon begins and ends at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The new times for the Marathon are 8 A.M. and the Rothman Institute 8K begins at 8:30 A.M. Due to the increase in runners for Philadelphia Marathon, there were changes to the course in 2003. Changes: Runners will no longer run a loop on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. They will run from Arch Street to 4th St., 4th St. to Race St., Race St. to Columbus Blvd., Columbus Blvd to Washington Ave., Washington Ave. to Front St., and will be back on course Front St. to South St
Philadelphia Marathon route will now take runners past the Philadelphia Museum of Art, City Hall, Chinatown, Independence Hall, National Constitution Center, Old Swedes' Gloria Dei Church, Old City/Penn's Landing, South Street, Mother Bethel Church, University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University, Philadelphia Zoo, Fairmount Park, Memorial Hall, West River Drive, Kelly Drive, Boathouse Row and Manayunk.
