On July 5, 2008, we were searching for a restaurant to celebrate the birthday of my future son-in-law. After calling a number of restaurants to find they were closed for the holiday weekend, we decided to gamble on a new experience. Because it was a birthday dinner, we wanted a special surprise. I called the restaurant to assess if they would be willing to accommodate us with this unusual request. Apparently, I spoke with Franco who advised me there would be no problem. Upon entry, I stiffened for a moment as I entered and heard two local patrons arguing about who was Franco's best customer. However, we were shortly greeted by Franco and a lovely young woman. I cannot remember the last time, if ever, I entered a restaurant as a total stranger and was greeted as though we were long lost relatives. There is a bar in the front, tables inside and out, and possibly an additional area upstairs. The place is located right next to the bridge and has on site parking. Our waiter, Tom, couldnot have been more helpful and attentive. Food was excellent. Instead of serving a boring butter with the bread, it was served with a tasty mixture of oil, herbs, and sun dried tomatoes. The gargonzola salad was served with a balsamic vinegrette reduction that was as tasty on the pallette as it was attractive on the plate. All portions of all appetizers were generous and provided a good value for the money. Our entrees were also prepared in an excellent presentation. An elderly couple at the next table, who were regulars, asked us what we had ordered for dinner. We told them and their response was that it did not matter what we ordered because it was not possible to get a bad meal in this restaurant. Based upon our experience, we found their reporting to be true. During the meal Franco stopped by to check how everything was going. What a pleasure to view someone who knows how to appreciate and customers.
